The failure of the Cosmological argumentI haven´t written anything in a while, so I decided to write this both as a mental exercise and because my watchers are probably wondering if I´m still alive :). But it’s also something important I want to give my thoughts on.

We’ve all heard of the cosmological argument, one of, if not the, most common arguments for the existence of a god. For those who don’t know, this is how the argument goes:

1. Every finite and contingent being has a cause.
2. A causal loop cannot exist.
3. A causal chain cannot be of infinite length.
4. Therefore, a First Cause (or something that is not an effect) must exist.

The first problem lies

Agnostic Atheist     How do you go about proving God's existence or nonexistence?  I would like to discuss it because it's usually avoided in polite conversation for good reason.  But this essay or rant or whatever is not polite conversation and will probably offend some people.

    First of all, how do we prove God's existence?  Well, from what I know, there is no hard, empirical evidence that proves God's existence.  There isn't any, none, and the Bible obviously doesn't count because it only assumes God exists; it never factually proves that God exists.  Miracles don't count either, common sense can even dictate they aren't real.  And people that say th

The Can on the Side of the Road  It's just a can.  No prosperity involved, no gain to you whatsoever.  But what are you to the can?  Obviously it has reached your mind that the can can't think and you believe that question was beyond ridiculous.  But for the sake of it, what are you to a can?  A giant walking by, glancing at you and not doing much else.  You are no benefit to the can.  The can is no benefit to you.  The only difference between the two of you is that one has a choice.  A choice to make the world a life's canvas.  To watch it destroy itself and then it's recreation.  It has the choice, to sit on the side of the road and watch you get hit by a car.  Or to go along with the wind and witness your fate elsewhere.  Whatever it may be, it will watch you, it will find you, and it will watch in utter shame on something that can move so freely and then end up destroying itself in the process.  The can can.  You can't.  De

Yes, I agree with everything! It's true. Everybody wants to be famous, but question is whether he can manage it... And I think, it's very hard to say it. But good artists should be known, because they make our life happier after all and they had to work very hard. :)

Thanks for your comment. And yes, I have seen many people struggle, on both extremes --

The unnoticed person dreams of success, in hopes of gaining a little more recognition; while the person who has 'made it' -- but who struggles with being fan-zoned and/or pressured by fans, managers and whatnot -- commiserates their success. Very often, while finding themselves addicted to expensive, and sometimes life-threatening habits! :nuu:

If a person understands their strengths and weaknesses, how much better they are, when/if success comes a-knocking!! :nod:

agreed! :thumbsup: actually i don't really care 'bout the "better"s that just become popular with non-arts way, that sucks n nonsense:stab:, but i really appreciate the "better"s who really hv an awesome arts :worship:, they're the real artist n deserved to gain the popularity :w00t:, i must learn much from them especially how they always prefer to improve the quality of their arts than the quantity :nod:

:huggle: I think I know what you mean -- those people who buy huge amounts of points, in order to commission artists to paint/draw/write whatever for them? (I think that many genuine deviants would agree that it's just not fair! :X However, I've also learned -- from those artists who don't care, either way -- that art appreciators are every bit entitled to join :devart:, as we are. Whether we like it, or not! :shrug:)

For those artists who have 'made it'; I applaud them! May they continue to enjoy the spoils that fame brings with it!! ;)

As for everyone else; be sure to shine on -- no matter what you're made of! :thumbsup:
